5 years in, 130lbs dropped, and a few weeks out from my first Men’s physique show. It was time for a change. It was either by force or by choice so I made the choice. Life can throw many things our way but it’s up to us how we handle them. My goal is to reach a pro card level within the next few years as fitness and nutrition has changed my life for the better and has lead to me to so many opportunities, people, lifelong relationships, and much, much more!
What is/was your goal?
Current goal is to successfully complete all three shows lined up for this year. My starting goal was to better myself, lose weight the healthy way, and take my time progressing in fitness and nutrition. Little did I know I’d be where I am today with sheer determination, willpower, and consistency.
Mantra that kept you going?
The results. It was that simple for me. I also had a vision of myself that I refused to stop pursuing. I am still in that pursuit. Right now my goal is to get on stage but I've already set more goals for post-competition.
Where are you in your journey currently?
Currently, I am halfway through. Being several weeks out from my first show is only half of it. I'm still learning more about my body and how it works. I'm still learning more about nutrition and how I can use it as my greatest tool to better my self mentally, physically, and emotionally. And I want to continue helping those around me and those wanting to start their own fitness journeys.
One piece of advice for others with the same goal?
Do what you have to do to get to where you want to be. At times, it requires us to do something we have never done to have something we have never had, but want. Keep your blinders on, put 110% in yourself, training, and nutrition, and always with pure consistency and determination, never give up on yourself and trust the process. We all have those days where it seems impossible but those are the days we tend to conquer some of our hardest obstacles. Last, never bite off more than you can chew. Set yourself up for success, not failure!!
Favorite recipe/favorite exercise?
Recipe: Sweet potato protein pancakes!
Favorite Exercise: One of my favorite exercises is pull-ups. Being 300lbs years ago, I never had the sheer strength to do them, now they have become one of my absolute favorite exercises! Feeling the stretch, contraction, and squeeze is so incredible!
Cellucor products that helped you along your journey?
I’ve been taking Cellucor supplements roughly 2 years now as I always find myself going right back to them due to the quality, effects, and taste! My personal favorites are the Alpha Amino during my workouts because they are one of the few BCAAs that give me just enough to get through my workouts but not too much to send me overboard! Also, my second favorite is the C4 Original, personally the premixed drinks because sometimes we all need that boost during the day right?
